Crazy

This shit is just f**king crazy
7 yrs olds cant play in their yards
Cause cowards and worthless criminals
Drive by, shooting children from their cars

Too many babies are being buried
Please don’t tell me, how the good die young
Damn man, Really? Nobody saw nothin’?
Our passivity, shows that evil, has already won

We stay engaged with worthless social media
Complaining, ‘bout self inflicted strife
But Damn Man, Really? Nobody saw nothin'?
Another of our babies has lost his life

Heard a man suggest, a ‘lil hood justice
Find those responsible, and kick that ass!
Reclaim our own lives, and our neighborhoods
Cause it’s current condition is just plain, sad.

We must take responsibility for our own village
The villagers? May need to take up arms.
And let these worthless invaders know unequivocally
We won’t allow you to do anymore, children, harm.

Heavy hearted are the parents and families
That have experienced a senseless, and tragic loss
No one else is gonna fix this problem for Us
We must join and rise up, against this evil force

Afraid to turn on the news in the morning
Sick, from learning another child has died
Damn man, Really? Nobody saw nothin'?
Fear in the air, is making too many, blind

It’s time to join together, without fear
Let these killers know, ENOUGH!, NO MORE!
All eyes and cross hairs are locked on ya!
We won't accept the same shit as before

Poetry

It’s how I tame the noise in my head
Bringing calm and clarity to my mind
Giving life a unique beat and rhythm
Letting me leave my troubles behind

Pen to paper, or strokes on a keyboard
Overcome with inspiration as I write
Thoughts jumble with no rhyme or reason
Begin to unfold, breath life, and take flight

Evoking multitudes of burning emotions
Expressing how I and others feel
Enlightening from different perspectives
Intriguing, and thought provoking, if you will

I’ve faced many challenges and losses
Experiencing a “life” semicolon or two
Well placed words became inspirations
My sanity and strength as I pushed through

It’s how I tame the noise in my head
Bringing calm and clarity to my mind
Giving life a unique beat and rhythm
Letting me leave my troubles behind

Sit yo ass down

Sit yo ass down, and chill the hell out
Learn to simply enjoy life’s ride
Stop absorbing and exuding negativity
Move forward, leaving dumb shit far behind

Always looking for there to be a problem
Where there simply isn’t one
But your persistent quest for trouble
Will certainly create one before you’re done

Sit yo ass down, and chill the hell out
Learn to simply enjoy life’s ride
Stop absorbing and exuding negativity
Move forward, leaving dumb shit far behind

Exception to the Rule

Often in the exception to the rule
We search for reason to doubt
This thing can’t be really happening
The rule says this can’t work out

But life found in the exception
Is lived enjoyin’ an impossible beat
Devoid of competition or obsession
Instead the rhythm is effortless and complete

I find myself most often the exception
To so many facts and rules and truths
But yet I keep surviving situations
Where the rules says, I was doomed

Live life being the rule’s exception
Dance to your own, chosen tune
Survive life as it happens
Make lifes exceptional, the new rule

Already Written

I sat down to write a heartfelt poem
And realized it had already been written
The conversation, had already been had
I had previously expressed my opinion

My thoughts and words, now repetitive
Cause time to learn more, was not relayed
Guess not all we want, is good for us
I gave my best, that for sure, I can say

As I began to write that heartfelt poem
Words from others would appear
Words I hope you’ll always remember
And the time, you were revered

Familiar New Memories

The road traveled feels so different
While the destination is the same
I made this journey years ago
But now, only memories remain

Each step closer I am reminded
That I should recognize this place
Familiar by yet quite different
Somehow sharing the time and space

Looking ahead at the road I once traveled
Never thought I’d take this journey again
I look forward to making new memories
As my familiar, yet new, journey begins

Water is like a woman

Water is like a woman
Calm, mesmerizingly beautiful, nourishing and more
She has a life giving force that is her essence
Many, many children has she bore

Heaven forbid you take her to anger
She’s becomes a force hard to endure
Reflecting many faces and varied colors
Many shades of blue, green and white caps at your door

She’s so vast her energy seems, never ending
Strong, steady, her uses many, necessary and vast
Don’t fool yourself, you’ll never control her
Waste, pollute or misuse her and you will surely feel her raft

Ponder Miss Water’s position the world’s pecking order
78% or so, the earth’s surface she seems to covers
That leaves and very, very low percentage for people
Our inhabitantance on or percentage, runneth over

Water is like a woman
Calm, mesmerizingly beautiful, nourishing and more
She has a life giving force that is her essence
Many, many children has she bore

Adoptee

Deliberately loved, Ms Adoptee
You must feel lucky and adored
Someone chose to love you
Certainly better off than your before?

Simple things some take for granted
Realities and facts you were denied
The whos and whats about who made you
An eternal search brews deep inside

You have a great thirst for knowledge
Answers needed to learn your core
Yet all think that you’re so lucky
Certainly better off than your before?

Why you askin’ all these questions?
You sure you wanna know the truth?
There may be pain in the reality
And not joy when you find the, Whos

Yes, deliberately loved and chosen
But first abandoned, not adored
Robbed of all knowledge of the real me
Still think, better off than my before?

I deserve to know my heritage
Do I look more like him or her
You have robbed me of my identity
Not certain even of my date of birth

Blessed to be deliberately loved
Thankful to be chosen and adored
But don’t fool yourself bout how lucky
Forever haunted by my before
